Minority Business Facts:
In 2002, minorities owned almost 4.1 million firms that generated $694.1 billion in revenues, and employed about 4.1million workers. Minority-owned firms accounted for
6.8% of all U.S. firms in 1982;9.3% in 1987;12.5% in 1992, and grew to 14.6% in 1997.


MBEs in 2002:

Hispanics owned 39.5% of the Minority Business Enterprises and created 30.8% of the jobs.

Asians owned 30% of the Minority Business Enterprises and created 48.8% of the jobs.

African Americans owned 27.1% of the Minority Business Enterprises and created 15.9% of the jobs.

American Indians owned 6.5% of the Minority Business Enterprises and created 6.6% of the jobs.
