Phelps was recently awarded the Construction Manager at Risk contract
for Stage 1 of the new Automated Train Fixed Facilities
project at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
The Stage 1 portion is estimated to be $200 million and includes
construction of approximately 1.5 miles of elevated guide way, 0.5
miles of on-grade guide way, three stations, three pedestrian sky
bridges, and a maintenance and storage facility. The Stage 1 portion
of the new train system will tie into an existing light rail station
and provide service from the east remote parking facilities to Terminal
4.
